What you need to know
When: Thursday August 27, Kings Arms Tavern
Who: CAANZ Member agencies only, and only one band per agency. All band members must be genuine employees or current freelancers of your company or agency. That means no freelancers not currently working with you, no students, no ‘part timers’, who turn out to be the drummer from DD Smash, no musicians you met on a job. Don’t cheat or we’ll find out and disqualify you.
What: Each band must perform at least two songs including ONE COVER and ONE ORIGINAL. Yes that means you have to write a song. No it’s not that hard. Time limit strictly 15 minutes.
Which: Any music genre. If you want to make a dick of yourself playing jazz flute onstage, be our guest.
Other stuff: Bands must register by 5pm, Friday August 7th. A fee of $250 + GST per band applies. That’s nothing if you use the boss’ credit card.
Each band will get a few comp tickets for their groupies. Extra tickets can be brought for $35 each.
Small shops can combine forces to form a band.
Backline gear on the night provided. BYO drumsticks, guitars, quenas, rainsticks and tambourines.
The judging panel come from varied backgrounds so lameass fiddly musicianship won’t necessarily get you the grand prize: a $1000 lunch at Prego.
